I love the tone of these photos as well as the red. Not a scrap of red in my house (except sophie's bedroom combined with pink and god knows what else...) but i still love it. I used to wear it alot but now prefer flashes of red in accessories.

Even though it can mean danger and warning, red makes me feel warm and positive... let's hope so as today is my very last day at work...

And so is my kitchen! Well, nearly. The doors are on, the doors are on, the doors ARE ON finally. I'm sure i am coming across completely mad but it seems like i've waited f-o-r-e-v-e-r for this and i honestly cannot believe it's done. I have to keep going back into the kitchen and staring!

Anyway i'm very pleased, it looks a million squillion times better and i still have the kickboards, edging and a couple of cupboard sides to do, so it can only improve. Question is do i post progress pics now or wait til its all finished.... hmmm....

Right now i feel like i need basic simple beauty, which is exactly what these pictures below are for me.

I'm no photographer but my favourite kind of photos are those with excess light or overexposure, sometimes i deliberately take photos facing a light or the sun because i like the effect, even if some of the photo comes out darker. Many a time my dad has told me it's bad photography!!! I think it's beautiful, like these pictures by stacymbass on flickr
