light up your life

Quite literally. So yes... i have decided my life will be better if i have festoon lights in the garden. Anyone know what festoon lights are? Well i didn't but now i do - the big traditional party lights that kinda just look like bulbs on a black wire. I love them! Obsessed. All gardens look better with lighting at night and i will soon be able to sit in the sunroom in the evening and admire my new beauties :)

And loving the tealight candle in jars for pretty and very cheap lighting.....

oops i did it again

.
My latest eBay purchase (again...) - this quirky 60's lampshade for only £3.20! I'm planning on hanging this in the bathroom, which is predomently white with walnut floor and dark accessories brown. I'm completely in love and convinced it's perfect to give the minimal bathroom the pattern, texture and character it needs! I hope i like it in the flesh...

bright light

I know i'm fast becoming obsessed with these lights (see kitchen) but now i'm considering this orangey/red one below off eBay for the bathroom which is completely white with walnut wood.
.
Finding it a bit tricky! It will either....
.
8 look fab as a coloured statement light
8 look horrid and i'll wish i went for something more white/neutral
..

So what do we think - yay or nay??

I'm going to keep browsing eBay anyway....

light fantastic

Last year i bought this vintage tripod light on eBay, dirt cheap for less than £10 including postage. I couldn't afford the style i wanted, all way over £100, so i transformed it myself! Very very happy with the outcome....
.

BEFORE......................... AFTER

I just sprayed the legs with dark brown spray paint and changed the lampshade, took me ages to find the right size drum shade, in the right colour and within tiny budget but i finally bought one yesterday from TK Max for only £9.99! Yay and it's perfect :) So i can sell the original shade on eBay, hopefully make a few pennies...!

Looks just like this £356 tripod light from Ligne Roset but i think mines much nicer!! :D

light up your life

Just came across these weird and wonderful lights..... some are silly, some are pretty and some are just plain weird. All very creative designs though and definitely a talking point if i had any in my home!! Some are pretty cool. I am liking the recycled light bulb one :)

eBay addiction

I must stop looking on eBay, as much as i love it - it is actually starting to stress me out because i want everything! I need a couple of days off at least, once my current items have finished ;) Found this 1950s/60s tripod lamp, only 99p. I'm going to bid. For the sunroom i think, the super skinny legs would work well in there, although they need spraying dark brown and i'd have to change the shade.....

New day, new lamps

The beautiful rocket lamp i posted yesterday went on eBay for £18 + £18 postage from US and ended at 3am in the morning so i was a good girl and did not bid (even though very surprisingly Lee loved it.....!). Still on the hunt for something very similar in the UK, in the meantime i am going to purchase this lovely 50s/60s lamp and just change the shade.

Tempted to buy this one but again it's £18 postage from US. I think it's very similar to the one in Anna from Doorsixteen's gorgeous home (actually not that similar but still like it)

AND another one that i love and think i might have to buy! How is it possible to suddenly get so obsessed with lamps?! Especially when i don't actually need any....

More Lamp Loving....

Loving these lamps too and even found a pic of 'my' oval G-Plan table.

Lots of decisions to make as buying one of these tables would mean a complete change of wood furniture in the living room. At the moment i am trying to juggle No 22 and my house so therefore managing to aimlessly obsess over a lot of things. We have our first viewing at No 22 on friday so i really need to focus today and tomorrow..... but so hard...!!

Lamp Hunt

Never mind the hunt for my chair - i need to own this gorgeous lamp so much more. The only problem is it's on eBay from the US and the postage alone is about £18! Very very tempted just to sod it and treat myself. It would have prime position in my living room.....
