I have officially been kidnapped by all things boyfriend moving in related. The tenants are in! Lee and Sophie are in! Complete with hundreds of boxes in my house full of 'stuff' with potentially no homes, therefore my new obsession when i get some blog time back is.... STORAGE!! Oh my god storage storage storage, feeling mildly panicked.....

miserable monday

It is finally THE week. The very last week of the never ending move. Things are feeling very stressed and the days really are disappearing, how was my last blog entry last wed?? We still have plenty to do and Lee is agonizing over giving Jay (his dog) away. He went to a new lady owner on Saturday so he would have more freedom and generally be happier but Lee is very heavy hearted with the guilt of giving his beloved Jay away. I feel awful.

Number 22 update

After not hearing anything after last Friday's viewing, Lee chased up the Letting Agents yesterday and apparently the lady has been off sick for 3 days hence us not hearing anything! So we've been advised to wait patiently until we hear from her. The feedback from the viewing was very good except the kitchen (the only room we haven't touched) smelt a bit of dog!! Oops. Lee is reluctantly finding Jay a better new home but he had been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately.

This weekend is moving weekend. House clearance (including loft and shed... ewww can't wait...) and all of Lee's things at mine!

I need to find homes for things fast!!

Also need to re-vamp my guest bedroom into a part time Sophie bedroom! I've been thinking for a while and had lots of fab suggestions from the guys on the Livingetc forums. My main priority: making it feel like her bedroom but not too kiddiefied. I don't really do pinky Barbie styley (and she has a Barbie duvet cover...!). I'd love to keep it modern retro theme as long as she loves it. There is lots of funky kids rooms on flickr http://www.flickr.com/groups/kids_rooms/pool/

I love this room but doesn't look much like a typical in your face kiddies room - maybe that's why! ;)

Bathroom Babbling

Although nothing like the No 22 grey bathroom project, this stunning pic shows the soft grey and dark brown comb - i like these colours together. Our bathsuite is actually quite a nice soft grey so have finally decided to spray paint (yay more spray painting!) the bamboo blind dark brown. Had to resort to browsing UKTV Style website.....nothing wrong with that OF COURSE but not really my usual taste! http://uktv.co.uk/style/homepage/sid/2

Decorating day at No 22

Today was decorating day. I say that like today is going to be the only day we spend painting.... i wish! We are getting Lee's house, No 22, ready for rental so decided to start with the bathroom (the worst room). I had SUCH satisfaction seeing the orange pine fittings ripped off the wall. Unfortunately being are on such a tight (non existant...) budget everything else has to stay, yes that means the grey bathsuite and horrible toilet seat have to stay. The pale beech floor is not too bad, i'm just grateful it's not wee-ridden carpet! Got to keep the natural blind too, was thinking about spray painting the blind and toilet seat in chocolate brown....do i? do i? My head hurts....




After 2 coats of white paint we still need one more to cover up the evidence of the original vile bathroom decor. But it was progress.... and working til 7pm i'd had enough for today. Besides i had things on eBay wich were ending soon ;)
