Every single day i have a long To Do list for my DIY jobs which as much as i hate to admit it rarely gets completed. I am just not built for DIY! I think i need to get myself one of these....!!

christmas made easy

Super simple handmade cards....

I really like the idea of handmaking my own christmas cards anyway and this year, due to my rather tight financial situation, i am going to start making some simple ones. Can't wait to start making them already and it'll also be a cool way of making them more personal :)
.
Found these easy peasy ones above on scrapbooksetc, for more info etc there are 36 card making ideas here

who needs belongings anyway

One thing's for sure, embracing minimalism is certainly easier on the budget. Today is my last day of my shorter working week (already??!) so my main project for my 4 day weekend is selling the entire contents of my house on eBay. Ok slight exaggeration but i will still be listing A LOT. I may include some of the more interesting items on here.... maybe.
.
Big yay for my future super minimalistic home and pockets full of cash!!

Opinions please please please!
I am begging ;)

To the right is a photo of my much loved danish style G-Plan chairs (i have 4 round my Ikea docksta table) i am STILL on the hunt for the 'right' retro fabric to cover them. I just cannot find The One.
.
I am soooooooooo tired of not having the wretched chairs nicely covered and i want to invite friends round for dinner!

Below are my current favourite fabric options....

positive prints

Love love loving these prints from studio mela on Etsy, they are just so adorable and quirky! Many times I have admired the one above before on my travels through blogland. A definite contender for my next poster purchase...

vintage etsy finds

Why does all the gorgeous retro kitchenware on Etsy have to be located in the US!! It just costs way to much to ship over here every time :(
-
Even though i can't afford, i love to 'window shop' and it's all good inspiration for my ceramic painting.

flickr faves

Right now i feel like i need basic simple beauty, which is exactly what these pictures below are for me.

I'm no photographer but my favourite kind of photos are those with excess light or overexposure, sometimes i deliberately take photos facing a light or the sun because i like the effect, even if some of the photo comes out darker. Many a time my dad has told me it's bad photography!!! I think it's beautiful, like these pictures by stacymbass on flickr

love your laptop

I am loving these fabric MacBook sleeves from food fabric and paper on Etsy. I don't actually have a Mac, just a regular laptop but these are available on special request in different sizes.
-
Excellent christmas present idea! I'd be quite happy with one ;)

london calling

I have been meaning to post these pictures for months. It was earlier this year that Lee took me to London, especially to go to Portabello Market because i love it so much.
-
Portabello Market:
-
how very touristy - taking a photo of a road sign!!!

The best part of Portabello Market for me is Portabello Green (above) so many cool retro things to appreciate. AND right next to these home goodies is an endless choice of vintage/retro clothing, shoes and all the most unique accessories - I LOVE IT and want to go back now i'm thinking about it again. Soon.
-
-
Kingly Court (off Carnaby Street):

Second favourite place to go when visiting London is Kingly Court, off Carnaby Street (also good). There are a few awesome shops in Kingly Court which are crammed full of vintage clothing and another which is a retro home lovers dream, full of all things cool and housey! (no photographs allowed unfortunately). Also love the relaxed eating area in the centre after hardcore shopping/drooling.

Notting Hill:

My visit to Notting Hill wouldn't be complete without taking a pic of my dream house.... one day (laughs hysterically...)

Orla Kiely has always been one of my absolute favourite designers but just lately i've become a bit obsessed with her stem print range. So i've added a few little things (below) to my Christmas list hee hee ;)
