I absolutely ADORE this Angelina Jolie text picture. It is sooo cool and i must have it for my home, it needs to be framed in a white frame for ultimate contrast and i'm thinking it will grace my new kitchen!!

How cosy and cute is this. This is where i want to be some evenings.... yes it's nice to be indoors but i want to get all wrapped up warm with a blanket round my shoulders and sit outside drinking sheridans coffee or mulled wine. I could totally do this in my garden.... just need the fairy lights and the lanterns, they make all the difference - so damn cosy!! Sadly that view is never going to happen, i'll just have to make do with my.... wall.

I want hairpin legs!!! For my body and for my home! I'm currently working on my own personal hairpin legs with my new good girl diet, and am seriously loving these hairpin leg tables on flickr....

The only similar legs i can find are on ebay from the US :(

No not my birthday. Just a little post to say a huge happy birthday to the ever lovely Lisa from Bitching in the Kitchen. I even baked a cake for her to celebrate! Shame she's over a hundred miles away from me so thought i'd just help myself.... lol

Everyone loves Orla Kiely and i love this! Looks so effective and it was a simple DIY job by helen at livingetc forums. My stairs are currently very boring carpet but this is something i want to try when i eventually get my next house. But maybe in brown stem for me ;)

kitchen peek

It's my part timers day off today so i am at home. Between tidying and more tidying (i am definitely doing something wrong to spend SO MUCH damn time tidying) i put up my new kitchen lampshade, there was no actual light fixing there, just wires poking out of the ceiling so my dad had to come and help his (useless) little girl, hee... good old dad. Even minor progress is still progress :)

The shelves are quite new too (also magically appeared on the wall via G.O.D, ha thats actually good old dad but i've just realised that it spells 'God' too.... funny... hmm little things...). Rest of the kitchen still looks tatty as hell, see pics here and before here, but i do believe it will be amazingly transformed when my new white doors are on. Please.

drowning my sorrows

Today i got my 'part timers' payslip and felt a sudden urge to do a post on cocktails then go home and get drunk on them!

First a 1960s cocktail cabinet i am watching on eBay.....

Ok so the picture doesn't do it any justice whatsoever BUT take away the surroundings (!) and the horrid patterned glass and this is calling to me. Really like it but it looks kind of big. The best bit is - it's on eBay for 99p from a little town only half hour drive away from me... hmmm what to do... ;)

Thinking about it, i would prefer something like this below via remodelista. This is absolutely GORGEOUS, and would nicely look after my cocktail 'equipment' :)

I'm not really much of a foodie but i've always liked my drink (alcholics look away now) and especially mixing my drinks cocktail style! Here my current top 5 concoctions i love to drink, nothing fancy but would nicely decorate my (new) cocktail cabinet...

+ snowball with a kick

advocaat, lemonade and vodka, tastes too nice to even be alcoholic

+ very bloody mary
vodka, tomato juice and LOTS of tasbasco sauce, enough to make you breathe fire

+ cheats sangria

red wine with a dash of orange juice, chuck a slice of orange in and voila - sangria ;)

+ coffee dream

coffee with sheridans instead of milk, perfectly acceptable to drink with breakfast
.

+ ginger snap

advocaat and ginger ale

Also i'm loving this cocktail book picture off flickr, i can just imagine it propped up near the drinks...

Online shop Pouch is like my heaven, all sorts of loveliness made out of vintage fabrics. Again it makes me wish i could sew, then i could attempt to make the more basic (ok very basic) items myself.

This is definitely one to re-visit when i have some money to spend :)

kitchen on a mission

I sigh a big sigh when i think of my unfinished kitchen.... my motivation and enthusiasm has been completely absent since coming into the new year. Plus doing it up on a non-existant budget is so frustrating! My sister is coming to visit for the first time in March and i need to finish it, am hoping i'll wake up tomorrow morning and be full of the joys of DIY....
